Google LLC
Google Assistant is the clearest choice here for hands-free voice commands and smart-device control. Its language support and personalized recommendations add convenience, and it has the largest reach by installs: 5,000,000,000+.
The trade-off is that it depends on an internet connection and can be less reliable with some accents or in some regions. Its 3.9 rating is lower than ChatGPT’s and Perplexity’s, though it is free and has no in-app purchases or ads.
OpenAI

It can sometimes give incorrect information, and it requires an internet connection. The app is free to start, but offers in-app purchases and contains ads; its Teen content rating is also higher than Google Assistant’s Everyone rating.
PerplexityAI
Perplexity is geared toward getting answers across a wide range of topics, making it the most search-oriented choice here. It supports voice input, has a 4.6 rating, and offers an ad-free experience.
